Oakland Raiders put OL Ed Wang on injured reserve

In other Oakland moves, offensive lineman Zach Hurd (head), fullback Rashawn Jackson (hip) and offensive lineman Ed Wang (shoulder) were moved from waived/injured to injured reserve. They are out for the season, but remain property of the team.

Wang’s parents were both track and field athletes for China at the 1984 Summer Olympics. His younger brother David Wang also plays football for Virginia Tech.

Wang is the first full-blooded ethnic Chinese player drafted by the NFL,[3] and can speak Mandarin. Previous NFL players of mixed Chinese descent include Walter Achiu,Timmy ChangPatrick Chung and Kailee Wong.[4]
